The June Carolina Catholic show addresses the medical End of Life issues through an interview with Dr. Jacques Mistrot, a retired North Carolina cardiac surgeon, who spoke at St. Mark Catholic Church on April 28, and who, in 2006, organized a course in Catholic bioethics including Medical End of Life Issues. The course was approved by Bishop Burbidge in 2008.
The topics addressed include Catholic teaching on ordinary vs. extraordinary care, food and hydration, those in a locked in state, and what type of document protects us as Catholics as we face our own illnesses and those of our loved ones.
