Mini Miracles at Lourdes and St. Maria Goretti from two Sophia Institute Press authors

We chat with author, Marlene Watkins, who experienced a mini miracle in Lourdes in 2000. Since then, she founded an organization called Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality North American Volunteers whose volunteers assist the staff at Lourdes. Marleen has led over 200 pilgrimages with 7,000 volunteers to Lourdes. In the second half of the show, I talk to the spokesperson for Sophia Institute, Michael Lichens, about a recently republished book called, I Killed Maria Goretti: The Life and Repentance of Alessandro Serenelli (previously called, The Penitent) by Pietro di Donato. In this historical fiction, Pietro writes about the life and martyrdom of St. Maria Goretti, who was killed by Alessandro Serenelli while a child (11). We also learn about his conversion while in prison for his crime and how St. Maria and the Goretti Family all forgave him for committing this terrible crime. He spent his last many years as a lay brother in a convent of Franciscan Capuchin friars in Macerata, Italy.
